The annual pottery baking

One of the most famous traditions in Damisa is the annual pottery baking. All inhabitants of different villages bake the most beautifulpots.

They decorate them with all kinds of natural materials and then bring them together at one of the markets. There all the beautiful pots are admired and sold! A beautiful tradition of Damisa that brings the people together.

The markets

Each villagehosts an annual pottery market.Everyone is free to get a

place in the market.Of course not only pots are sold, but also other homemade things of the

inhabitants. This ranges from

jewels to kitchen utensils.The pots are the main attraction. The markets are so beautifully decorated with all kinds of lights. It gives a kind of Christmas atmosphere in the warm Damisa.

Prices

To participate in the markets, you are asked to pay 10 Zahr. The

prices are very different, it is not a cheap market. Because Damisa is not such a rich countryand there is a lot of poverty, the government has decidedto ask a minimum

price for the pots.This way, the

Damisians earn a fair price for their home-made products. The money they pay for their market place is then spent on the lightsand

decorations of the markets. This way, every year it is a great successfor everyone!
